Entry for April 14, 2007 ~ Opus Sanctorum Angelorum

Well, tonight I will go to sleep happy.
Today I was accepted as a candidate for formation to become a member of the Opus Sanctorum Angelorum (Work of the Holy Angels).
Years ago, I bought a book by Fr. Robert J. Fox, at that time the US Chaplain for the National Shrine of the Blue Army (WAF ~ to which I also belong, see my earlier blog entry) in New Jersey, named the same as the name of the Angel organization and I read it cover to cover ~ I was enchanted! I had to know more, so I bought more books about the Angels...my desire to learn more and more about them has never left me.
(The OSA has been around for many years ~ since 1961 ~ and was declared a Public Association of the Faithful in 1992, by edict of the Holy See. This gives it the sole authority and responsibility over all the Faithful in all matters concerning the Angels.
It was also began as a Confraternity, making it accessible to all people, not just religious.)
And now I will be a member, after a year of formation and probation.
I went to their retreat mission @ Ss. Cyril & Methodius parish at the beginning of Lent and applied right away...and finally yesterday (13 April, 2007) my first Letter came!
I have no idea what to expect from my membership, but I am jumping in with both feet!
I cannot wait to learn more about my wonderful and very dear Friend (my name for my Angel...I don't know his real name, but a Friend to me he has always been...my very best Friend!)
It's getting late so I need to turn in for the night...but tonight I will sleep happy. I can now stop waiting and watching the mail for any news, good or bad. I can stop jumping to my Catholic email account for a notice informing me of the outcome...I can rest assured that one year from now, I will finally be consecrated to my Friend...
And I cannot wait!!!

Jenn, I wasn't worried that you would be accepted. I hope you post little-known facts about angels as you discover them. Lisa
